LeBron James may have much to do with the Cleveland Cavaliers’ success, but Mo Williams’ solid play at the point guard position legitimately takes the Cavs to the realm.
When Ray Allen was chosen to replace the injured Jameer Nelson on the Eastern All Star squad, the Cavs were irate. Here’s a couple creative thoughts from the Cavs on the situation.
Ben Wallace: “It’s a tragedy. I think it’s an injustice. It’s a fraud. We’ve got the best record in the league, and we’ve only got one guy going. You always make it the next year, after the year you were supposed to make it. It’s a travesty and a sham and a mockery. It’s a shamockery.”
Cavs owner Dan Gilbert: “Not naming him as the natural and obvious replacement for the unfortunately injured Jameer Nelson is stupidiculous, idillogical and preposterageous.”
There’s always next year, Mo.
**Update 2/10/09: David Stern says Mo Williams will replace the injured Chris Bosh in the All Star Game. I guess whining does work sometimes.
